Summer Music Fest in Frankenmuth, Michigan hosted the 2nd Annual Michigan State Polka and Michigan
State Waltz contests under the direction of Tour de Dance and its director, Mary Lou Kaye, on August 9, 2008.
Participation increased in all categories and contestants represented 9 different states and Canada. The winners took home beautiful trophies as a reminder of their victory on the dance floor....but that wasn't all. Passes to next year's festival were part of the prize package. All participants received one pass just for taking part and the couples in the top 3 positions will received 9, 6 and 3 passes each, respectively. All in all the prizes amounted to a couple of thousand dollars.
